Thomas L. Byers, 89, of Indiana, died Wednesday May 21, 1980, in the Veteran's
Administration Hospital, Altoona. The son of David and Sadie Dias Byers, he was born
Jan. 10, 1891, in Burrell Twp., Indiana County. Mr. Byers was a lifetime resident of
the Indiana areaand had been a self-employed stone mason and carpenter. He was a
veteran of World War I. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Leroy (Helen) M. Coleman,
Home; four grandchildren, one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife,
Dola E. Neal Byers, in 1964; a sister, Minnie Donahue; three brothers, Scott, Albert
and Robert. The family will receive friends Friday in the Frank T. Mihalcik Funeral
Home, Indiana, where services will be conducted in the chapel on Saturday, with the
Rev. Horace Pollack officiating. Interment will be in the Garden of Devotions,
Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana.
