Salvadore J. "Sal" Cordi, age 61, of Blairsville RD 3, died Wednesday, Aug. 11,
1999, at Lee Hospital in Johnstown. He was born April 9, 1938, in Derry, a son
of Patsy and Elizabeth Angelo Cordi. Sal was a self-employed electrician, a
veteran of the U.S. Army, and a member of St. Joseph Parish and Knights of
Columbus Council 2648 of Derry. He is survived by his wife, Carol G. Forsha
Cordi; a son, David W Treece of Bradenville; two daughters, Mrs. David "Peggy"
Terney of Latrobe, and Mrs. James "Debbie" Percha of Akron, Ohio; a brother,
Frank Cordi; and a sister, Mrs. James "Connie" Clark, both of Orlando, Fla.;
five grandchildren: David Anthony, Jennifer, Stephen, Kaleen and Stuart; and
several nieces and nephews. Mr. Cordi was preceded in death by his parents. The
family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the
Michael J. Quinlisk Funeral Home Inc., 548 N. Chestnut St., Derry. A funeral
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Church, with the Rev.
Stephen C. West celebrating. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery,
Deuy. Derry Township VFD of Bradenville will meet at 7 p.m. Saturday in the
funeral home.
