The son of Paul G. and Maple Boyle Campbell, he was born July 15, 1918, in Homer City; Mr. Campbell graduated from Ho- mer City High School in 1936 and later attended the University of Pittsburgh. He retired from the FMC Company in 1984 with 35 years of service. At FMC, he was a regional sales director for the sub- sidiary Syntron Manufacturing Company, Homer City. He was a veteran of World war II, having proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, the Combat Tnfantry Badge and many other decorations for his service in the Pacific The- ater. He was a member of the VFW, the 24th Infantry Regiment Association and the Concord United Methodist Church, Englewood, Ohio. Survivors are his wife, Helen Lightcap Campbell, Dayton, Ohio, to whom he was married for 48 years; two daughters: Paula Jo Campbell, Alexandria, Va., and Elizabeth Ann Campbell, Vandalia, Ohio; and one brother, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Robert B. Campbell and his wife, Lila, Taco- ma, Wash. Friends will be received Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home in Homer City, where a funeral se'rvice will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Robert E. Shaw officiating. Interment will follow in the Green- wood Cemetery, Indiana.
