The daughter of Samuel and Lottie McComb Hine, she was born May 24, 1897, in Young Township. Mrs. Coleman lived in Young Township for most of her life and was the oldest living member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Clarksburg. She was a 1917 graduate of Indiana Normal School and a member of the following organizations; Indiana County Chapter of the Daughters of the American Reveloution, Elders Ridge Homemakers and the Indiana County Historical Genealogical Society. Prior to her retirement, she had been a school teacher in the Young Township area schools. Surviving are two sons and three daughters: Clarence M., Young Township; Harold R., Homer City; Alice Gridley, Indiana; Velma Grandt, Chicago, ILL.; and Janice Coleman, Kiski Township; a number of grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great-great-children; and four sisters; Lois Lambert, Longlake, Minn.; Martha Hine, Pittsburgh; Ruth Myer, Rochester, N.Y.; and Ester McCall, Conneaut, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence Coleman, in 1944; one brother, Samuel Hine; and two sisters, Emma Townsend and Mary Hine. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the Curran Funeral Home Inc., Saltsburg. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Trinty Presbyterian Church, Clarksburg, with the Rev. Thomas Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Elders Ridge Cemetery.
