Coleman, 82 of West Lebanon, died Monday Nov 26, 1979, at his home in Young Twp. A son of William A. and Jennie Reed Coleman, he was born March 18, 1897, in South Bend Twp, Armstrong Co. Mr. Coleman was a member of the Shelocta United Presbyterian Church, a former elder of the West Union United Presbyterian Church and a member of the American Legion Post 141. He had been a farmer most of his life and had taught school for several years at South Bend,Apollo an Maysville. Mr. Coleman served with the U.S. Army during World War I. He lived most of his entire life in West Lebanon and served as director of the Elders Ridge School board and of the South Bend Mutual Fire Insurance Co. Surviving are his wife, Ruth Dunmire Coleman, a son Dale G., Indiana; two daughter Mrs. Richard R. (Mabel) McCormick, Ligonier, and Mrs. J. McKee (Doris) Patterson, Apollo; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers; H. Owens, Apollo, and W. Lyle, Vandergrift; and three sisters; Mrs. Agatha Couch, North Apollo; Mrs. Meade (Adelaide) Millen, West Lebanon; and Mrs. Robert P. (Esther) Cunningham, Indiana RD 5. He was preceded in death by two brothers; Buff and Roy. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in Robinson-Lytle's, Indiana where a service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov 29, with the Rev. Thomas Craver officiating. Interment will follow in South Bend Cemetery. Additional Comments: I don't have the name of the newspaper as all of the obits I will submit are clippings from a scrapbook.
