Nelson Coleman Expired in the Midst of Merry-Making. Was Prominent Citizen. Complained of Unusual Fatigue After a Short Walk-Exhaustion the Cause. J. Nelson Coleman, one of the most prominent citizens of the south-western part of the county, dropped dead on Wednesday, July 18, while attending a birthday party at the home of his cousin, T.H. Coleman. The party was given in honor of the birthday of Mrs. Robert Coleman, a few relatives having been invited. Mr. Coleman walked over with his wife and arriving at the house, sat down on the steps, remarking that he had never found it so difficult to walk. The guests had spent some time in conversation and were then invited to the dining room for refreshments. Nelson Coleman did not rise from his chair when the others did, and those who went to his side found that he was dying. He expired almost instantly. The deceased was a prominent citizen in his community, and was possessed of a large amount of property, real and personal. He was a life-long member of the Presbyterian church at Clarksburg. His wife and six children survive. The latter are: Mrs. Verner Wolf, of Greeley, Col.; Mrs. George Van Horn, of Loveland, Col.; Mrs. H.J. McClelland, of Nowrytown; Albert and William, who live at home, and Paul, a civil engineer in the south. [this obituary has a hand-written date "7-18-1906"] Funeral of J. Nelson Coleman Funeral services over the remains of J. Nelson Coleman, who died suddenly at the home of his cousin, T.H. Coleman near Clarksburg, on Wednesday evening, will be held at the home of the deceased at 10 o'clock Sunday morning. The services will be in charge of Rev. Fulsher, pastor of the Presbyterian church at Clarksburg.
