A son of John and Clare Learn Cook, he was born Jan. 1, 1901, at Cookport. He had been an employee of Coca Cola Co.. of Indiana for the past 47 years. Mr. Cook was a member of the First Regular Baptist Church, FOE No. 1468 and American Legion Post No. 141, all of Indiana. Surviving are his widow, Elizabeth Caylor Cook; three daughters; Mrs. Robert [Lois] Trainer, Indiana; Mrs. Clarence [Dorothy] Widdowson, Lake City; Mrs. .Robert [Betty] Spence, Virginia Beach; a son, James V. Cook, Pittsburgh; five step-children; Lee and Lin Caylor, Greenville, Mrs.. Walter [Betty] Cunkelman, Clarksburg; Mrs.. William [Roxie] Frye, North East; Mrs.. Fred [Irma] Conrad, Indiana;  21 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers; Paul, Johnstown; Jay, Indiana: two sisters: Mrs.. Harry [Beulah] Thompson, Sarasota, Fla.; Mrs.. Raymond [Grace] St.. Clair, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Iona Henry Cook in 1921; his second wife, Eleanor St.. Clair Cook in 1940; and a son , Wendell in November, 1969. Friends were received Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and today from 1 until 3, time of the service, at the Richard T. Bell Funeral Home, Indiana. The Rev. Alan Campbell officiated and interment was made in Oakland Cemetery, Indiana.
