After receiving first aid attention, he was rushed to the Indiana hospital, where his death occurred at 11;30 o'clock. Mr. Dias was employed as a laborer for the Buffalo Slag Company, of DuBois, which is engaged in taking away slag from the yards of the McKinney Company, which was abandoned a number of years ago. There were many piles of slag in the yard, which workmen were engaged in removing, when a large lump of slag started rolling down one of the piles and crushed Dias under it. He was married to Annie Elizabeth Stump in Indiana County, 16 Jan 1901; seven children survive. He was buried at the Lutheran Church cemetery in Coral, Pa.
