Thorton L. Dias, 67, Dilltown, died the morning of December 7, 1962, at Altoona
Veterans Hospital. Born February 8, 1895, in Brush Valley Township, Indiana
County, a son of the late George and Lavine (Campbell) Dias. He was preceded in
death by six brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his widow, the former
Edna Woodring, and a daughter, Mrs. Kathryn Daniels Frear; also three
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also survived by the following
nieces: Joan Dias, Mrs. Gwendolyn Hunter, Mrs. Miriam McDowell, Mrs. Geraldine
Mack, Mrs. Norma Kelly and Mrs. Janet Mansfield, and two nephews, Mack Dias and
Allen M. Dias. Veteran of World War I. Member of American Legion Post 294,
Johnstown. Friends received after 7 p.m. Saturday in late residence, Dilltown,
where funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, the Rev. D. W. Stanley.
Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements in charge of Kenneth N.
Gray Funeral Home, Seward.
