Donahey, 80, pioneer building contractor and employee of the People's Power company, died in his home, 2314 Sixth avenue, Moline, at midnight last night. He assisted in the building of the Baptist, Unitarian, Methodist and Congregational churches, the Lincoln and Grant schools, the H. A. Barnard and the Charles Deere homes, all of Moline. After retiring from the building business, Mr. Donahey was employed by the People's Power company at the Fourth street plant, where he worked for 33 years before retiring four years ago. Mr. Donahey was born in Black Lick, Pa., Sept. 3, 1845. Before coming to Moline in 1869, he was a bridge builder. Mr. Donahey was an alderman during the administration of Dr. Wessel as mayor of Moline. His wife preceded him in death on July 8, 1918. Surviving him are two daughters. the Misses Grace and Florence Donahey of Moline: one son, Jesse Donahey of Omaha. Neb.; one brother, Frank Donahey of Downs. Kan., and two sisters, Mrs. A. P. Baker of Blairsville. Pa., and Mrs. Eliza Bennett of Josephine, Pa. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon in the residence. Doric lodge of Masons, of which the deceased had been a member, will conduct the services. Interment will be in Riverside cemetery, Moline.
