Indiana Gazette (Indiana, PA) - 11 Apr 1900, Wed
Mrs. Maria Doty died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Duncan, of
Blairsville, last Wednesday evening, at the age of about 80 years.The deceased has
been in poor health for the past three years, her limbs being partially paralyzed.
Recently, she became afflicted with softening of the brain. Mrs. Doty has been a
resident of Blairsville for many years. She was twice married. Her first husband,
Dr. E. P. Emerson, was the first physician in Blairsville. The funeral services were
held in the Blairsville Episcopal church, Saturday afternoon at 2:30. Interment was
made in Blairsville cemetery.
