A daughter of William and Ida Beltz Heberling, she was born Jan. 22, 1911, in South Mahoning Town- ship, Indiana County. Mrs. Elkin was a member of the Sagamore Gospel Center. She was a resident of Ashland, Ohio, for 22 years before moving to Indiana. She worked as a laborer for Ashland Rubber Co. until her retire- ment in 1977. Surviving are two sisters: Vaida Warden, Indiana, and Helen Poole, Olivesburg, and one brother, Dale Heberling, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale Elkin, in 1994; two infant sons; two sisters, Grace Scott and Madge Kerr, and two brothers, Delbert and Smith Heberling. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Bowser-Min- ich Funeral Home, Indiana, with the Rev. Reid Blystone officiating. In- terment will be made in the Smicks- burg Cemetery.
