The son of Hugh and Annie Bacon Ellis, he was born July 7, 1903, in Phillipsburg. Mr. Ellis was a member of the Clymer Presbyterian Church. Be- fore his retirement, he was em- ployed as a laborer with the Pennsylvania Department of Trans- portation. He was a member of the F&AM Lodge 313, Indiana, for 50 years. Surviving are one son, Barry, and wife Kathryn and two granddaugh- ters, Nancy and Christine, all of Clymer; and one brother, Clyde, and wife Jennie, Portage. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ione M. Brum- mert Ellis, in 1993; and the following brothers: Charles, George, Hugh, James, Raymond and Calvin. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Harry J. Bence Funeral Home, Clymer, where there will be a Masonic service held at 7 p.m. Sunday by Lodge 313, Indiana. A funeral ser- vice will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Clyde Mighells officiating. Inter- ment will follow in Sample Run Protestant Cemetery, Cherryhill Township.
