     Ernest Ellis


 Ernest Ellis, 94, of Clymer, died
Thursday, Jan. 15, 1998, at the
Indiana Hospital.
 The son of Hugh and Annie Bacon
Ellis, he was born July 7, 1903, in
Phillipsburg.
 Mr. Ellis was a member of the
Clymer Presbyterian Church. Be-
fore his retirement, he was em-
ployed as a laborer with the
Pennsylvania Department of Trans-
portation. He was a member of the
F&AM Lodge 313, Indiana, for 50
years.
 Surviving are one son, Barry, and
wife Kathryn and two granddaugh-
ters, Nancy and Christine, all of
Clymer; and one brother, Clyde, and
wife Jennie, Portage.
 He was preceded in death by his
parents; his wife, Ione M. Brum-
mert Ellis, in 1993; and the following
brothers: Charles, George, Hugh,
James, Raymond and Calvin.
 Friends will be received from 2-4
and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Harry J.
Bence Funeral Home, Clymer,
where there will be a Masonic
service held at 7 p.m. Sunday by
Lodge 313, Indiana. A funeral ser-
vice will be held at 11 a.m. Monday
at the funeral home with the Rev.
Dr. Clyde Mighells officiating. Inter-
ment will follow in Sample Run
Protestant Cemetery, Cherryhill
Township.
