He was born July 21, 1926, in Blairsville, the son of Roy Jefferson and Daisy F. Berenbrok Forsha. Mr. Forsha was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church, Blairsville, where he had served as a trustee and member of the administrative board. He graduated from Blairsville High School in 1944. He then attended and graduated from St. Vincent College in 1950 with a BA. in biology and chemistry. He graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Medical Technology in 1952 and Presbyterian Hospital School of Cytotechnology in 1965. Mr. Forsha served with Gen. George S. Patton in the 3rd Army, 94th Infantry Division. during WWII in France and Germany. He was presented the Bronze Star and Purple Heart for action on March 2, 1945. He was a member of the VFW and DAV. Prior to his retirement, he was employed at Torrance State Hospital from 1950-1985 as a medical technologist and later as a clinical director. He was a member of the Blairsville Library Board of Directors, serving as vice president. He was a charter life member of the Historical Society of Blairsville. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Dolores R. "Dorrie" Forsha; a son, Frank L. Forsha Jr. and his wife, Valerie, Montoursville; daughter, Paula Anderson and her husband, Greg, Indiana; grandchildren Jennifer and Joshua Anderson and Colin Forsha; two sisters, Doris Henigin and her husband, Donald. Blairsville, and Peggy Bernini, Newton Falls, Ohio; a brother, Harry Forsha and his wife, Anna, Chambersburg, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends will be received at the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, Blairsville, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. VFW Post 5821 and the American Legion will conduct military services Friday morning. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jason L. McQueen officiating. Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery. Donations may he made to the Blairsville Public Library; the Historical Society of Blairsville or to Latrobe Home Health and Hospice Services.
