Bertha G. Carlson Forsha, 84, of Blairsville, died Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at
Beacon Ridge in Indiana. She was born Nov. 1, 1919, in Hillside, a daughter of
August William and Alvida Swanson Carlson. She was a veteran of the U. S. Navy
and served in World War II. She is survived by a brother, Hilding B. Carlson and
his wife, Ruth, of Blairsville, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded
in death by her parents; her husband, James Edward Forsha, in 1977; five
brothers: Wilbert Carlson. Ernest Carlson, Carl Carlson, Paul Carlson and Joseph
Carlson; and three sisters: Anna Carlson, Ruth Nicely and Alma Piefer. Friends
will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the lames F Ferguson
Funeral Home, Blairsville, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m.
Friday with Joe Traynor officiating. The VFW Post 5821 and the American Legion
will hold military services immediately after the funeral service. Interment
will be made in Blairsville Cemetery. Memorial donations may he made to the VNA/
Hospice Foundation, 1265 Wayne Ave., Suite 303, Indiana, PA 15701.
