Bertha G. Carlson Forsha Navy Veteran Of World War II 
Bertha G. Carlson Forsha, 84, of Blairsville died Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at
Beacon Ridge, Indiana, Pa. Born Nov. 1, 1919, in Hillside, she was a daughter of
the late August William and Alvida (Swanson) Carlson. Bertha was a U.S. Navy
veteran of World War IL In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by
her husband, James Edward Forsha, in 1977; five brothers, Wilbert, Ernest, Carl,
Paul and Joseph Carlson, and three sisters, Anna Carlson, Ruth Nicely and Alma
Pieter. Surviving are a brother, Hilding B. Carlson and wife, Ruth, of
Blairsville, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 7 to
9 p.m. Thursday in James E Ferguson Funeral Home, 25 W. Market St., Blairsville.
VFW Post 5821 and the American Legion will hold a military service Friday
morning in the funeral home. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday in
the funeral home; Pastor Joe Traynor will officiate. Interment will be in
Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville. Memorial donations may be made to VNA/Hospice
Foundation, 1265 Wayne Ave. Suite 303, Indiana, PA 15701.
