Freed, 77, of Blairsville R. D. 2, formerly of Rockwood, Pa., and Mt. Pleasant, Pa., died Sunday at the Latrobe Area Hospital. Born in Laurelville. Westmoreland County, April 2, 1895, she was a daughter of the late Clark and Cora Hoover Ridenour. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Scottdale, the American Legion Auxiliary Post 446 of Mt. Pleasant and the Gold Star Mothers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry S. Freed in April, 1969, and a son, Harry Jr., in 1944 during World War II. Surviving are four daughters: Mrs. Franklin (Charlotte) Hill of Blairsville R. D. 2; Mrs. George (Dorothy) Jennings of Blairsville; Mrs. Harry (Loretta) Nowland of Homer City; and Mrs. Lawrence (Opal) Whetsel of Mt. Pleasant; a son, Clark W. of Blairsville; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Sadie Mardis of Rockwood, Mrs. Ella Crosby of Mt. Pleasant and Mrs. Casper (Helen) Hess, Baltimore, Md. Family will receive friends after 7 p.m. Monday at the Ferguson-Helm Funeral Home, Blairsville, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday with the Revs. Paul Wilson and Albert Wright officiating.
