Deitman EMAIL: ldeitman@epix.net DATE: Jan 07, 1999 SURNAMES: Fetterman Indiana Gazette- March 16, 1947 JOHN FETTERMAN, died in his late home in Wilgus, Montgomery Township, yesterday afternoon at 1:00 o'clock, March 16, 1947, following an illness of six months. He was a son of Elias and Serepta Spicher Fetterman and was born January 8, 1879 in Grant Township. Mr. Fetterman was a faithful member of the Montgomery Church of the Brethren and active in all church work. Surviving are his widow Mrs. Minnie Myers Fetterman, and these children, born to his first wife, Ellen Walker Fetterman who preceded him in death 21 years ago: Reverend Ivan Fetterman, pastor of the Montgomery Church of the Brethern and Miss Eva Fetterman, both at home. Three step-children, Mrs. Zonie Smith, Erie; Mrs. Nova McMillen, Black Lick and Mrs. Edna Lydic of Punxsutawney. The deceased was a brother of Murray Fetterman of Glen Campbell RD., and Blair, of Clymer. Friends will be received in the family home, near Hillsdale, this evening. Wednesday morning the body will be removed to the Montgomery Church of the Brethren to lie in state for service. Reverend John H. Clawson will officiate.
