Fisher, 88, Black Lick, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 1997, at Indian Haven Nursing Home, Indiana, following an extended ill- ness. The daughter of Robert and Mary Hancock, she was born Dec. 25, 1908, in Blacklick Township, Indiana County. In addition to being a full-time mother and homemaker, Mrs. Fish- er was active in the Black Lick Free Methodist Church as a leader with the Christian Youth Crusaders and the Sunday school's seasonal pro- grams. She also did tutoring in the Literacy Program of Indiana Coun- ty. She enjoyed gardening and allù types of embroidery work. Surviving are seven daughters and three sons: Zelda Roghair, Colo- rado Springs, Colo.; Curtis Fisher and wife, Mary Alice, Export; Mrs. Thomas (Daisy) Carson, Warren; Lucinda Elgin and husband, the Rev. Dr. George Elgin, Clovis, Calif.; Robert Fisher, Black Lick; Violet Roghair and husband, Rich- ard, Virginia Beach, Va.; Lillian Fisher, Greensburg; Beverly Sorisio and husband, Elmer, Indiana; John Fisher and wife, Connie, Latrobe; and Linda Kamperin and husband, Kenneth, Salina; 29 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchiIdren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Aaron L. Fish- er, in 1988; three brothers: Ray- mond, John and Robert Hancock; three sisters: Mabel and Lilly Henry and Mary Muir; and her parents. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, Blairs- ville. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, with Pastor Fred Craig and her son-in- law, the Rev. Dr. George Elgin, coofficiating. Interment will be in Coral Lutheran Cemetery, Coral. Memorial donations may be made to the VNA of Indiana County, 119 Professional Center, Indiana, Pa., or to the Black Lick Free Methodist Church.
