Fulcomer, 80, Tyrone RD 4, died Tuesday morning, May 16, 2000, at Altoona Hospital, following an extended illness. He was born Jan. 6, 1920, in Tyrone RD 4, the son of Curtis George and Sarah Jane [Harris] Fulcomer. He was twice married. First he married Marion Louise Witt March 7, 1942, in Freehold, N.J. She died March 31, 1970. Then he married Mary Tehaney Overton Dec. 23, 1971, in Bloomington, Ind. Mr. Fulcomer was a member of Warriors mark United Methodist Church. He retired as a dairy farmer in Warriors mark Township in 1982, after 26 years of service. Mr. Fulcomer was a 1938 graduate of Warriors mark High School. He was a member of Atlantic Breeders Association and Interstate Milk Producers. Surviving are his wife of Deerfield Assisted Living, Tyrone; a daughter, Nancy Lynch of Clearfield; a son, Kenneth F. of Hundred Springs Road, Tyrone RD 4; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone. ….. Funeral services for Verne K. Fulcomer will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 18, 2000, at Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone, with the Rev. Gregory Lake officiating. Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone. Mr. Fulcomer had lived on the family farm his entire life until one year ago, when he established residence at Deerfield Assisted Living in Tyrone. He is survived by a son-in-law, James Lynch; a daughter-in-law, Aileen; grandchildren: Frank Fulcomer of Altoona, Annie Fulcomer of Sinking Valley, Patricia Kavelak of Elkins, W.Va., and James [Jaime] Lynch Jr. of Clearfield; great-grandchildren: Rayanna, Izaak and Myra Kavelak; and a grandson-in-law, Jeffrey Kavelak. He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
