Dorothy J. Piper Gaskill, 76, Blairsville RD 3 (Derry Township), died Tuesday,
Feb 16, 1993, at Latrobe Area Hospital. The daughter of Leroy and Fredericka
Mikesell Piper, she was born July 18, 1916, in Cook Township. Mrs. Gaskill was a
member of the Hebron Lutheran Evangelical Church, Blairsville, and the Daughters
of Hebron. Surviving are four sons: Keith A., Duane W. and Dwight L all of
Blairsville RD 1; Leroy F., Jeannette; a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Karen) Thomas,
Mt. Pleasant, two stepsons: Charles R., Farwell. Mich. and William A.,
Westmoreland City; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Margaret Kegg, Clare, Mich.; 12
grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, many step grandchildren and step great-
grandchildren; four brothers: Gilbert Piper, Blairsville RD 3; Linley Piper,
Seattle, Wash., Clair Piper, Black Lick; and Donald Piper, Blairsville RD 3, and
two sisters, Mrs Eli (Thelma) McDowell, Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Leonard (Marie)
Leibel, Blairsville RD 3. She was preceded in death by her husband. Otto J.
Gaskill Sr.. on Jan. 21. 1983,  a stepson, Otto J. Gaskill Jr a stepdaughter,
Nora Burnworth; her parents; a granddaughter, Wanda Thomas, and two brothers,
Leonard and Garvin Piper. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Thursday and
from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in the Richard L. Shoemaker Funeral Home.
Blairsville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Hebron
Lutheran Evangelical Church, Blairsville, with the Rev. Greg Riether
officiating. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
