The son of Lewis L. and Agnes Hastings Gunter, he was born March 19, 1911, in Altoona. Mr. Gunter lived most of his life in Indiana County. Prior to his retire- ment, he had been employed as a miner for the R&P Coal Company. He served in the U.S. Army duririg World War II. He is survived by his four sons: Lewis Gunter Jr., Clymer; Richard Gunter, Michigan; Raymond Gun- ter, Seward; William Gunter, Michi- gan; his three daughters, Betty Balue, Indiana; Eleanor Skultedy, Lucernemines, and Katherine Lu- cas, Clymer; numerous grandchil- dren and great grandchildren and his special friend, Martha Virdzek. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy Scott Gunter; four brothers: Merle, James, John and Raymond Gunter; three sisters: Delores Penn, Blanche Croushore and Violet Shankle. There will be no visitation. Robinson-Lytle is in charge of arrangements.
