MRS. RUTH R. McCONNELL HARKCOM, 84, of 149 East Ranson Ave., Blairsville, died
Wednesday, July 26, at the Indiana Hospital. She was born in Burrell Township,
Indiana County, June 10, 1888, the daughter of Charles B. and Margaret Kelly
McConnell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry L Harkcom in December
1950, and a sister, Mrs. Stella Mayhugh in June 1972. Surviving are two
daughters, Mrs. Edwin (Margaret) Foreman of Palmertown and Mrs. Edward (Eva)
Peterson of Armagh; a son, Charles F. McConnell of Portersville RD 2; 15
grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Kate Wolfe,
Jeannette. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to
4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Ferguson-Helm Funeral Home, Blairsville, where
services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Palmer L. Washburn
officiating. Interment will follow in Blairsville Cemetery.
