Emma Lorraine (Jones) Hoak, 73, of Indiana, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001, at
Integrated Health Services in Greensburg. The daughter of DeVere and Marie
(Cramer) Hinderliter was born Sept. 12,1928, in Clymer. Mrs. Hoak was of the
Protestant faith. She had worked as a registered nurse for the Indiana, Latrobe
and Torrance State hospitals throughout her career. She was a member of the
Indiana Hospital Nursing Alumni Association. During the early years of her
marriage, she frequently traveled to Canada on fishing trips with her husband.
She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, gardening and traveling. Surviving are
three children: Sandra Lynn Jones, Los Angeles; Gregory Jones and his wife,
Donna, Homer City; and Nancy Lee Jones, Harrisburg; and very close friends
Donald and Doris Henigin, Blairsville. She was preceded in death by her parents
and by two husbands, Alvin Winston Jones and William Kennedy Hoak. Friends will
be received today from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bence-Mihalcik Funeral
Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. with the
Revs. Paul Becker and Paul Gerycz co-officiating. Interment will be in
Blairsville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American
Narcoleptic Association, c/o Narcolcpsy Institute, 111 E. 210th St., Bronx, NY
10467.
