The daughter of Wendell B. and Clara Rook Lowman, she was born Nov. 22, 1908, in Rayne Township, Indiana County. She was a graduate of Cherry Tree High School and had attended Indiana State Teachers College, now Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She had lived most of her life in Indiana. Mrs. Hamilton was a member of Graystone Presbyterian Church, the Presbyterian Women, the Bertha Sutherland Circle and the King's Daughters Class of the church. She also a former member of the Indiana Hospital Auxiliary and the New Century Club. She was employed by Indiana Printing and Publishing Company as a proofreader until her retirement in 1974. Surviving are three daughters, Jane Hamilton, Orchard Park, N.Y., Bernice Isaac, Moline, Ill.; and Virginia Ann Hamilton, Indiana; two grandchildren, Mark Isaac, Imperial, Mo., and Michele Isaac, Chicago; a brother, W. Ray Lowman, Lewisville, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Richard ( Alice) Longwill, Indiana, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death in 1970 by her husband William M. Hamilton, whom she married Dec. 24, 1929, and by her parents, four brothers and five sisters. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in Robinson-Lytle's, Indiana, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Dr. Jerald B. Landrey officiating. Interment will made in Oakland Cemetery, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to Graystone Presbyterian Church, Indiana.
