"Butch" Hoover, 39, Ho- mer City RD 1, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 1997. The son of Robert A. and Saundra Detwiler Hoover, he was born March 18, 1958, in Indiana. Dale was a member of the Brush Valley Chapel and a former active member of the Brush Valley Luther- an Church, both of Brush Valley. He was a volunteer for United Youth Baseball. A 1976 graduate of Purchase Line High School, he pursued additional education for insurance and invest- ment specialties. He was most re cently employed by Baltimore Life Insurance Co. He was formerly employed as a coal miner with R&P Coal Co. for 10 years. Surviving are his wife, Karen E. Campbell Hoover, whom he married June 17, 1978; one son and two daughters: Bryant A., Kelly L. and Kayla M., all at home; his mother, of Fallen, Nev.; one sister and two brothers: Cindy Bergschneider, Fal- lon; Nev.; James, Elko, Nev.; and Robert, Fernley, Nev.; maternal grandmother Manon Detwiler, Strongstown; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father in 1992; maternal grandfa- ther, Daniel Detwiler; and paternal grandparents, John A. and Daisy B. Hoover. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday in the Bowser- Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Brush Valley Chapel, Brush Valley, with Pastor George Dickson officiating. Inter- ment will be in the Brush Valley Lutheran Cemetery.
