Alvin W. Jones, 44, of 141 S. Liberty St., Blairsville, died Sunday in the
Latrobe Area Hospital. Born Jan. 25, 1928, in Blairsville, he was the son of
Martin E. Jones and the late Thelma Elizabeth Forsha Jones. He was employed as a
clerk for the Penn Central Railroad and a member of the First United
Presbyterian Church, Blairsville. Surviving in addition to his father are his
widow, Mrs. Lorraine Hinderliter Jones; children, Sandra, Nancy and Greg, all at
home. Family will receive friends on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday from
2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Ferguson-Helm Funeral Home, Blairsville, where
services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Edward J. Thompson
officiating. Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery.
