JEFFRIES, of 205 South Spring Street, Blairsville, passed away unexpectedly at his late residence this morning, Tuesday, April 28, 1964. Born December 5, 1899 in Rochester Mills, he was a son of G.H. and Elizabeth Rittenhouse Jeffries. Mr. Jeffries was a retired employe of the Clymer Water Co., Indiana and also a retired Rural Mail Carrier in Indiana Co. He was a veteran of World War I, and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Blairsville; the Fellowship Bible Class; American legion Post No. 407, Blairsville; the Last Squad Club, Blairsville; Blairsville Sportsmens Association; IOOF of Marion Center, and the Rural Mail Carrier Association. Survivors include his wife Mary Lowry Jeffries; one son, Glenn A. Jeffries, Vandergrift; three daughters: Mrs. Robert (Lois) Lore, Greensburg; Mrs. Daniel (Thelma) Bortner of Kewanee, Ill.; Miss Claire Jeffries at home; four brothers: Jerry W. and Paul W. Jeffries, both of Indiana; Robert H. Jeffries, Punxsutawney; Harold Jeffries, Glen Campbell; six sisters: Mrs. Nola Lydick and Mrs. Dollie Hess, both of Indiana; Mrs. Margaret Grey of Pittsburgh; Mrs. Dorothy Little of Punxsutawney; Mrs. Isabelle Berry of Glen Campbell and Mrs. Georgia Gardner of Glen Burnie, Maryland. Eight grandchildren also survive. Friends will be received at the Richard K. Shoemaker Funeral Home in Blairsville after 7 p.m. this evening where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Lee E.
