A daughter of Frank and Ivy Leasure Kerr, she was born Sept. 30, 1904 in Green Township, Indiana County. Mrs. Jeffries was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Indiana, a member of the Elks auxiliary and the Indiana Garden Club. She had lived almost her entire life in Indiana County until moving to Florida in 1971. She later lived in New Jersey for two years and at the present time was residing with her duaghter since September 1981 in Downingtown. Mrs. Jeffries was a matron of the Indiana County Jail for 20 years. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. William (Arlene) Sabota, Downingtown, PA; several grandchildren; a brother, Samuel Kerr, West Orange, NJ; two sisters: Olive Phillippi, Carlsbad, New Mexico and Elizabeth Buterbaugh, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul W. Jeffries in 1977; a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Iva Mae) Murray; three brothers: Logan, Luke and John Kerr; and a sister, Ruby Buchanan. Arrangements are in charge of Robinson-Lytle's, Indiana and will be announced in tomorrow's Gazette. Pastor Bernhard A. Bischoff will officiate and interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana.
