A. W. Kimmell, of South Seventh street, was gathered to her people at the dawning of Wednesday, February 10, 1909, aged 82 years. She had been ill with chronic laryngitis for several days but no danger was apprehended until the day previous, when internal hemorrhages weakened the frail body and she peacefully passed away. Mrs. Kimmell was a daughter of the late Conrad Rice, one of the pioneers of Indiana county, who lived near town, on what is now known as the Bath farm, where Cordilla was born, more than four score years ago. For 60 years she and her husband made their home on South Seventh street and both were constant attendants at all church services held in the Presbyterian church, where Mr. Kimmell was an elder and able leader. Mrs Kimmell was a member of the various church societies and when she was able to attend at all gave the inspiration of her presence and contributed of her means to help the work along. Word of her death reached the Ladles' Foreign Missionary society, as they held their thank-offering meeting, and many were the expressions of regret that they would see her no more in the missionary meetings. She is survived by two children: Lieut. Commander Harry Kimmell with the coast survey, Washington, D. C., and Mrs. Mary K. Wilson, wife of M. Henderson Wilson, of the firm of Wilson & Wood, clothing merchants. Nine children preceded the parents to the heavenly country. A handsome memorial window was placed in the new Presbyterian church by Mr. Kimmell in honor of his daughter, Cynthia, who Was a member of the church choir for years. She is also survived by nine grandchildren. Funeral services were held at her late home Friday afternoon, at 1:30 o'clock, by her pastor, Dr. F. S. Crawford.
