Kanarr, 63, Commodore, R.D. 1, died unexpectedly Friday, Sept. 23, 1966 at the Armstrong County Memorial Hospital in Kittanning. A son of William and Nancy Jane Johnson Kanarr, he was born June 12, 1903. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Ethyle Biss in 1934. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Kanarr was employed by the Cherry Tree and Dixonville Railroad as a section foreman. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees Lodge 1583, the Indiana County ABC League, and the Indiana County Classic League. Survivors include three sons: Charles B., Smithport; James, Commodore R.D.; and William Veterans Hospital, Altoona; the following brothers and sisters: Ellsworth H., of Punxsutawney; Mrs. Lelia Biss, Utica, Pa.; Mrs. Howard (Frances) Pierce, Homer City; Aaron, of Cherry Tree R.D. 1; Ralph, of Springville, O.; William I. of Harrisburg; Mrs. Howard (Jane) Jacoby, Indiana, and Paul E. of Denten, Md.; ten grandchildren also survive. Rev. Thomas Lynn will officiate and interment will follow in the Thompson Cemetery in Hillsdale.
