 Josephine Kaplin

 Josephine A. Kaplin, 71, of 1675
Saltsburg Ave., Indiana, died Thurs-
day, Jan. 8, 1998, at Indian Haven
Nursing Home, Indiana.
 The daughter of Walter and Kath-
erine Materna Kaplin, she was born
Feb. 11, 1926, in Cowanshannock
Township.
 She was a member of the Protes-
tant faith and was formerly em-
ployed as a housekeeper at Indiana
University of Pennsylvania.
 Surviving are a daughter, Karen
Wagner, Buena Vista, Allegheny
County; a brother, Bernard Kaplin,
North Washington; and two grand-
daughters, Jennifer and Lisa.
 She was preceded in death by five
brothers, Andrew, Stanley, Walter,
John and Adolph "Eddie" Kaplin;
and two sisters, Victoria and
Mildred Kaplon.
 Friends will be received from 2-4
and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Car-
son/Boyer Funeral Home, Rural
Valley, where a funeral service will
be held Saturday at l:30 p.m. with
the Rev. Fred W. Craig officiating.
Interment will be in St. Mary's
Roman Catholic Church Cemetery.
