King, 78, (Edmon) Kiski Twp., died Saturday, Sept. 23, 1972, in Citizen's General Hospital, New Kensington after a lingering illness. Born July 15, 1894 at Saltsburg, he was a son of the late James H. and Florence Aultz King. Mr. King was a World War I veteran and a member of the Salina Reformed Church. He was charter member of World War I Veterans 3002, Apollo, where he served as quarter-master. He belonged to American Legion Post 631, Kiski Twp., and UMW of A, Local 6673, where he served as secretary-treasurer for many years. He retired in 1954. He served as a judge on the election board of Kiski Twp. for 30 years. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Marie M. Stout King; a son, Elden L., Edmon; three daughters: Mrs. Gloria E. Shirley and Mrs. Samuel (Yvonne) Gray, both of Edmon; and Mrs. Stanley (Eleanor) Kanick, Avonmore RD1; two sisters: Mrs. Thomas (Ella) Townsend, Edmon; Mrs. Murray (Dorothy) Strong, Apollo RD2; 19 grandchildren and 8 great- grandchildren. Friends are being received after 1 pm today at the Daniel J. Yockey Funeral Home, Avonmore, where services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 27, at 1 pm, with his pastor, the Rev. Carey E. Bentley officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Church Cemetery.
