Mrs. King was the mother of 5 children, the oldest being 8 or 9 years of age, and the youngest a infant of 7 weeks. Ever since the arrival of the last child, the mother has been despondent and in poor health. The night previous to the shooting, the husband sat up all night, and weary with watching, he fell asleep. Mrs. King, upon finding herself unguarded secured a 32 caliber revolver that was in the house, placed the muzzle against her right temple and fired. Those who hurried to the scene of the tragedy say that death was almost instantaneous. The funeral service was held at the deceased's late residence today at 2 o'clock. Interment was made in Cherry Tree Cemetery. 7/9/1906
