Iva Lois Kirkland, 82, Marchand, formerly of Indiana RD 3, died Tuesday,

March 8, 1977, at the home of her son, Richard Kirkland, Purchase Line.



She was the daughter of James and Catherine Ober Edwards and was born July

2, 1894, in Rayne Township, Indiana County.



Mrs.Kirkland was a member of the United Methodist Church, Tanoma.



Surviving are four sons: J. Lloyd, Marchand; Richard L., Purchase Line;

Darwin C. , Clymer RD 1; Dale E., Indiana RD 3, nine great grandchildren;

six great-grandchildren; one brother, Murray D. Edwards, Commodore RD 1.



She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Kirkland, on June 12, 1964.

They had married Feb. 14, 1917. Also preceding her in death were three

brothers, Horace, Harry, and Carl Edwards; five sisters, Mrs. Clara Simpson,

Mrs. Sadie, Mrs. Minerva Everwine, Mrs. Nettie McAfoos and Mrs. Florence

Botsford.



Friends will be received from 7-9 pm today and from 3-5 and 7-9 pm. Thursday

in the Rairigh Funeral Home, Hillsdale, where services will be held at 1:30

pm Friday, March 11, with the Rev. Clarence Shaffer and the Rev. Prewitt

Duncan officiating. Interment Greenwood Cemetery.
