Mrs. Lowman was born in the northern section of this county and was married to Thomas Lowman in 1857. Shortly after they were married they came to this place and, with the exception of a few years, had resided here. Mrs. Lowman was an earnest and consistent member of the M. E. church and was greatly interested in church work. She is survived by her husband, and four children, as follows: Mrs. A. B. King, J. T., of Pittsburg; Dr. N. B., of Bellevernon, and Elizabeth, at home. A sister, Mrs. John W. Rhodes, of Blairsville, and one brother, Bell, of Jefferson county, survive her. The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock, by Rev. J. W. Carey. Interment was made in Oakland cemetery.
