Long aged 63 years a former businessman here, passed away at his home on Fourth Street, Monday morning at l:15 o'clock. He had been in ill health for the past year, but up until Friday was able to be around. Mr. Long was born in Rayne Twp., Indiana Co. on July 1, 1872 and was the son of the late Charles & Margaret Long. The youngest of a family of eleven children, two of whom are still living. He married Miss Emma Ray of Cherryhill Twp., Indiana Co. and later came to Irwin where he engaged in the hardware business for over a quarter of a century. Mr. Long was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Irwin and was held in high esteem by everyone. He is survived by his wife and the following children. Mrs. Kent C. Richmond, of Wilkinsburg; Mrs. H. C. Donley, of Swissvale; Mrs. A. H. Heasley, of Trafford; and Gertrude and Marvel at home, also by one sister, Mrs. Margaret McCunn, of McKeesport, and one brother, W. A. Long of Irwin. Funeral services were conducted by his pastor, Rev. Samuel Blacker, Wednesdsay afternoon at 2 o'clock at his late home on Fourth Street. Interment followed in the Irwin Union Cemetery.
