     ELGIN RAY LOWMAN, 72, of Marion Center R.D.1, died Monday, April 20,1970, 
in the Miners Hospital, Spangler.
     A son of Thomas Gilmore and Emma Elizabeth Dorn Lowman, he was born Feb. 
23, 1898 in Grant Township, Indiana County.
     Prior to his retirement he was employed with the Hess Coal Co. and was a 
member of the Pine Vale Christian Church.
     Surviving is his wife, Margreta Zoe Pardee Lowman, a foster duaghter, Mrs. 
Harold (Edith Mae) Taylor, Arcadia; nine foster-grandchildren; two brothers and 
two sisters: Jennings D., Seattle, Wash.; Nile, Berwick; Mrs. Jess (Frances) 
Peiffer, Marion Center; Mrs. John (Ellen) Stitt, Marion Center R.D.1.
     He was preceded in death by a daughter, Josephine; a sister, Mrs. Nobel 
Wright, and a brother, Andrel Lowman.
    Friends will be received from 2-5 and 7-10 p.m. Tuesday and from 4-10 p.m. 
Wednesday at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Hillsdale, where services will be held 
Thursday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Emmett Keith, officiating.  Interment will 
bemade in the East Mahoning Cemetery, Purchase Line.
