LOWMAN of East Pike, died Saturday, July 16 at 9:07 A.M. in the Deshon Hospital at Butler, from complications. He had been ill for more than a month. A son of Jacob F. and Samantha Keturah McCracken Lowman, born March 14, 1890, in Rochester Mills, he was a farmer in Indiana County for fifty years. Mr. Lowman was a veteran of World War I, served overseas from June 5, 1918 to May 9, 1919; took part in the following battles: Morbacke Sector, St. Meheil Offensive and Meuse ARgonne Offensive. His mother, Mrs. Keturah Lowman, East Pike, Indiana, four brothers and two sisters survive: Clair Lowman, Bert and Blair of Indiana, R.D.4 and Bud of Erie; Miss Dolly and Miss Alice Keturah Lowman of Indiana, R.D.4. Friends will be received at Robinson's, 36 N. 7th St., Indiana, after 3:30 p.m. today, where services will be held Tuesday, July 19, at 1:30 p.m. (DST) with Rev. Arthur J. Pfohl officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana. Military services at the grave will be conducted by Indiana Posts American legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
