Katherine Lowman, widow of J. F. Lowman, of East Pike, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 1953, at her late home. Mrs. Lowman has been an invalid for the past 20 years. Born November 11, 1863, Green Township, Indiana County, Pa., a daughter of the late John and Martha Jeffries McCracken, she had lived in Grant Township for 39 years and the past 50 years at East Pike, Indiana, PA. Survived by four sons: T. Clair, Bert and Blair, all of Indiana, R.D.4 and B.L. of Erie, Pa. (a son, Guy, passed away four years ago); two daughters: Miss Dolly Lowman and Miss Alice Lowman, both at home; also two grandchildren, who were reared in the Lowman home, Paul E. Lowman, Indiana, R.D.4 and Mrs. Harry Deabenderfer of Indiana, R.D.3. Friends will be received after 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Robinson's 36 N. 7th St., Indiana, Pa. where services will be conducted Friday, May 15, at 3:30 p.m. (DST). The Rev. Arthur J. Pfohl will officiate. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana, PA. Additional Comments: Her name was Samantha Keturah McCracken Lowman and she went by Kate. She had other grandchildren in addition to the two mentioned in the obituary. The two mentioned are children of Bert Lowman and his first wife, Celia Mock. Bert married a second time and had children: Alice Marie Isabel, Guy Harrison, Mary Elizabeth, Russell James and Dolores Mae.
