SUBMITTER: Amy Timmerman-Sheehan EMAIL: antique3rd@aol.com DATE: Oct 17, 1999 PASSWORD> SURNAMES: Sharp, Makeever Obituary for Mary Ann Sharp Makeever (January 1885) Mrs. Mary A. Makeever. Mary Ann Sharp, daughter of Thomas and Isabel Sharp, was born in Indiantown, Pennsylvania, August 15, 1820. She was converted and united with the M.E. church in March, 1840, in Ohio while visiting her sister, Hannah Peacock, who still survives her. She was united in marriage to John Makeever, Feburary 14th, 1842, at the home of her parents in Johnston, Pennsylvania. She then removed to Marion county, Ohio. In 1845, she moved to Jasper county, Indiana, where she resided until her death. She was the mother of two daughters and one son: the son died in infancy. She has always lived a devoted, consistant christian, since her conversion. She was always a gentle, loving, wise and safe counsellor. She was a very indulgent, self-sacrificing wife and mother. On January 28th, 1865 after a very brief illness, surrounded by loving ones, who cared for her tenderly, her spirit took its flight to be with the God who gave it. She leaves a husband, two married daughters, and a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn her loss.
