JOHN S. McCREERY. The death of John S. McCreery occurred at his home at
Kermoor, Pa., on August 23, 1917. He was born in South Mahoning township,
this county. He was aged 63 years. His parents were Robert McCreery and
Nancy Dushane. His grandfather, William McCreery, was one of the pioneers
of northern Indiana county, settling in Mahoning township in 1804. Mr.
McCreery was a leader in every movement for the betterment of the community
and was a kind hearted Christian man. He is survived by his wife, two adopted
children, Mrs. Ella Flannigan and Miss Florence McCreery, and these brothers:
Rev. W.H. McCreery, of Loveland, Colo.; I.N., of Pasadena, Cal.; E.H.,
of Coronado, Cal.; J.F., of Eureka, Cal.; and Robert A., of Morgantown,
W. Va.
