Melnick, 74, Indiana RD 6, died Friday, Dec. 26, 1997, at the Indiana Hospital. The son of Michael and Katherine Madazoska Melnick, he was born Nov. 6, 1923, in McIntyre. Mr. Melnick was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Roman Catho- lic Church, Indiana. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a life member of the VFW Post 1989, Indiana, a member of Ameri- can Legion Post 141, Indiana; and an avid golfer. Throughout his life, he had worked for R&P Coal Co., Marhoeffer Bak- ing Co. and retired from FMC Corp., Homer City. Surviving are his wife, Rosanna Elias Melnick and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Metro Mel- nick; and three half brothers: Mike, George and John Zanick. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Bence- Mihalcik Funeral Home, Indiana. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Roman Catholic Church, Indiana. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
