Moorhead, who died on Saturday at his home in Everson, PA., from complications following a stroke of paralysis, which he sustained almost two years ago, was a son of the late A.T. and Mary Hutchison Moorhead, of Indiana. He was born at Taylorsville, this county, January 14, 1854. For the past 50 years he resided at Scottdale and Everson and during the greater part of this period he lived at Everson, where for the past 28 years he served as Justice of the Peace and held this office at the time of his death. Early in life he became a member of the United Presbyterian church, having united with the First Church of Indiana, and after locating at Scottdale became a member of the congregation there. In recent years he worshipped with the United Brethren church at Everson and was a member of the Men's Bible class. Gifted with a genial disposition and displaying a sympathetic and kindly interest in his fellow man, a devout christian and faithful in the discharge of all his duties in public and private life he won the admiration and respect of all who knew him. On January 14, 1882, he was united in marriage to Mary L. Blackburn, of Mt. Pleasant, who survives him with these children: Ernest F., Alexander T. and Sherman E. Moorhead and Mrs. Charles Moore, all of Everson; Mrs. Edith Libengood, of Scottdale, and Mrs. Roy Grimm, of Denver, Colo. He is also survived by 21 grand children and these brothers and sisters: Mrs. D.K. Hill and Mrs. C.R. Lininger, of Ann Arbor, Mich.; Albert S. and A. Ralph Moorhead, of Indiana; Mrs. H.M. Fair, of Aliquippi; Dr. Hugh M. and Frank E. Moorhead, of Erie,and Mrs. John K. Brailler, of Latrobe. The funeral services were conducted on Tuesday afernoon in the Everson United Brethre church by the pastor, Rev. Householder, and interment followed in the Scottdale cemetery.
