Moyer, 100, Cherry Tree RD 1, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 1997, at Pavelko's PerSonal Care Home in Cherry Tree RD 2. He was born Aug. 4, 1897, in Cooper Township, Clearfield Coun- ty. Mr. Moyer was a member of the Cherry Tree Presbyterian Church. He was a lifelong member of the Cherry Tree Fire Department and was a member of the UMWA. He spent most of his career work- ing as a coal miner and a farmer. He also worked as a carpenter, and retired in the mid-1960s from the Barnes and Tucker Coal Company in Barnesboro. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ed (Mabel) Arotin, Barnesboro, and Mrs. George (Helen) Little, Grass- flat; three sons, John Moyer and wife, Petty, Cherry Tree; Wilbur Moyer and wife, Irene, Sarasota, Fla.; and Paul Moyer and wife, Marina, Irwin; 1l grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great- great granddaughter. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, the former Agnes Erickson, in 1979; two sons, Staff Sgt. Leroy J. Moyer, who died in World War II, and Kenneth Moyer; an infant daughter, Inez Moyer; a granddaughter, Diane Jean "Dee- Dee" Moyer; three brothers, Ed- ward, Henry and Harvey Moyer; and four sisters, Cora Ardry, Laura Folmar, Eva Goldian and Ivy Hubler. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Johnson Funeral Home in Grassflat, where services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. Pastor Bobbi Neason will officiate and interment will be in the Kylertown Presbyterian Ceme- tery, Cooper Township, Clearfield County. The Albert E. Rairigh Funeral Home, Hillsdale, will be in charge of local arrangements.
