She was born in Wenatchee, Wash., on April 8, 1916, the daughter of Robert Jacob and Ellen Grace Snyder. Mrs. Orendorff was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Roman Catholic Church in Indiana. She graduated from Central Washington College of Education in Ellensburg, Wash. She had worked as a librarian at the Yakima Public Library in Yakima, Wash., and had taught elementary education in Alfa, Wash. Mrs. Orendorff was a member of the Dames Club at Glenville State College and at Indiana State Teach- ers College (now IUP). She was the recipient of the diamond pin award as an Avon representative. Surviving are her brother, James Richard Snyder and wife Betty and family, Long Branch, N.J.; 12 chil- dren: Harry and wife Carole, Hous- ton, Texas; Jo Anne Peterson, Homer City; Patricia Smith, Tndi- ana; Mary Beth Orendorff, Charles- ton, W. Va.; Richard, Indiana; Judith Adams, Indiana; Thomas and wife Katherine, Houston, Tex- as; Catherine Nolen and husband Donald, Sterling, Va.; David, Lake Hughes, Cal.; Debra Henninger and husband Warren, Indiana; Roberta Borgo and husband Robert Jr., Ir- win; and Lori Layer and husband Joseph, Pittsburgh. Also surviving are 29 grandchil- dren: Kristofer Orendorff and wife Rebecca; Matthew Orendorff; Kim- berly Atherton and husband Craig; Kelly Carley and husband William; Karyn Jones and husband Howard; Kathleen Zuchelli and husband Ja- mie; Richard Peterson, Ted Smith and wife Pamela; Stacey Carmo and husband Thomas; Lisa Spencer and husband Eugene; Thomas Smith and wife Julie; Robert Smith, Julie Orendorff, Stephanie Adams, Paula Lugo and husband Ray; Gregory, John, William and Christine Oren- dorff; Elizabeth, Jason, Patrick and James Nolen; Michael, Brian, Jona- than and Daniel Henninger; Robert Borgo III and Jennifer Borgo. Also surviving are 14 great-grand- children: Lindsey Atherton, David, Shawn and Andrew Carley; Melissa and Laura Jones; Aaron Zuchelli, Charlie Smith, Ashley, Kaitlyn Grace and Shannon Carmo; Britta- ny, Jacob and Justin Spencer. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dr. Haroid S. Orendorff (former: Dean of Fine Arts at IUP) who died in 1974; and a brother, Vincent Vernon Snyder. Visitation will be private. A funer- al mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Bernard of Clairvaux Church in Indiana. Inter- ment will be in the church cemetery.
