He was born Sept. 27, 1909, in Blairsville. Mr. Piper was retired as a conductor on the Pennsylvania Railroad. He was a member of BPOE 406 and LOOM 187, bath of Blairsville. Surviving are his wife Helen Forsha Piper: one son, Robert D. Piper, and one daughter, Mrs. Lloyd (Alice) St. Onge, both of Taylor, Mich.: one stepson, John Carlson, Kittanning: one stepdaughter, Mrs. Sarah Babco, Homer City: 13 grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents: three brothers: David, Albert and Harry; and one sister, Mrs. Edna Harman. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday in the Ferguson-Helm Funeral Home, Blairsville, where services will be held at 1.30 p.m. Friday with the Rev Roger D. Petersen officiating. Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery.
