2-6-1943 Indiana Evening Gazette
     Mrs. Mary (Jeffries) Pardee, of Rochester Mills, a daughter of Mrs. 
Elizabeth Jeffries of Rochester Mills and the late Goerge H. Jeffries, a former 
sheriff of Indiana County, died at 11:45 a.m. Friday in Adrian Hospital, 
Punxsutawney.  Death was attributed to pneumonia following the birth of a son, 
Kenneth Louis.
     Her death marks the first of 14 children of Mrs. Jeffries and the late 
sheriff.  She was born on December 21, 1907 and with the exception of the time 
of the term of office of her father here, had lived in Rochester Mills where 
she was a member of the United Brethren Church.
     Howard C. Pardee, to whom she was married December 19, 1923, the mother, 
the infant son and the following other children survive: Marie, Georgianna, 
Margaret, Donald and Paul, all at home.  She was the sister of Mrs. Edna 
Jamison of Dayton; Mrs. Nellie Myers of Tipon; Paul Jeffries of Indiana; Mrs. 
Nola Lydic of Rochester Mills; Mrs. Margaret Gray of Detroit; Mrs. Dollie Hess 
of Indiana; Mrs. Dorothy Little of Rochester Mills; Albert Jeffries of 
Blairsville; Paul Jeffries of Indiana; Mrs. Isabel Berry of Clearfield; Robert 
Jeffries of Rochester Mills, Mrs. Georgia Gardner of Pittsburgh and Harold 
Jeffries of Rochester Mills.
     Funeral services at her late residence.  The Rev. Hempfield will officiate 
and interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
