Funeral services will be conducted this afternoon at his late residence followed
by interment in the Brickell cemetery in Banks township, for Charles W. Rainey,
aged 53, who died on Sunday at his home in Gipsy from complications, following
an extended illness. The deceased, who had resided during the greater part of
his life in the Gipsy community, was married in 1904 to Miss Grace Brickell, of
that section, who survives with these children, Mrs. Rachel Gromley, of
Starford; Mrs. Evan Hamilton, of Ebensburg; Mrs. Rebecca Gromley and Blair
Rainey, of Gipsy; Howard Rainey, of Arcadia; Ila, Ethel, Thomas and Charles,
Jr., residing at home. He also leaves his father, J. B. Rainey, of New
Chambersville, and these brothers and sisters, Albert Rainey, of Clymer; Mrs.
Nora Smith, of Home; Joseph Rainey and Mrs. Jane Clapsadi, of Wilgus; Mrs.
Margaret Rummings, of Clearfield county, and Lynn Rainey, of Jersey Shore.
