Robert D. Sracic, 68, of Blairsville RD 3, died Monday, June 22, 1992, at
Loyalhanna Care Center, Derry Township. He was born May 30, 1924, at Homer City,
a son of the late Frank A. and Antonia Frian Sracic. A member of SS. Simon and
Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, and United Mine Workers of America
Local 1619, he was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U. S. Army.
Prior to his retirement in 1984, he was employed by Helen Mine. Besides his
parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Nicholas. Survivors
are his wife, Katheryn A. Denkovich Sracic; a brother, George of Blairsville;
four sisters, Mrs. Mary Muir of Blairsville RD 3, Mrs. Charles (Libby) Friend of
Denming, N. M., Mrs. Josephine Piper of Cleveland, Ohio, and Mrs. Gary (Ann)
Collins, El Paso, Texas, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive
friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Richard
L Shoemaker Funeral Home, 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, where a wake service
will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m.
Thursday in SS. Simon and Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, with the Rev.
Michael W. Matusak as the celebrant. Interment will follow in SS. Simon and Jude
Cemetery, Blairsville.
